At a recent auction I had made around a dozen postal bids for Englsih and Scottish notes. I won nothing. All but two Lots were won by the bid above mine. It was very disappoiting as some of my bids were at the ‘book price’. However, there is always the next auction. Hope springs eternal. Also, a good number of notes are coming my way through private sales. I know the prices I pay are above the offers made by other dealers.
