I am not sure if Elon Musk has looked at my website….yet! What do I have in common with Elon Musk. One thing for sure is that he has more financial clout than me. However, he is someone who exerts a mighty force in the area of social media. Opinions are very divided as there are some who thinks he talks sense and others who view him as interfering unnecessarily in areas he needs to stay clear off. He has the ear of Donald Trump so the show goes on! Opinions are polarised. Banknotes have been used for centuries as means of transactions but also they have impacted upon history and made history eg the hyper-inflation in 1920s Germany. On the back of banknotes we often see countries highlight people, historical events and major projects. Scottish banknotes have highlighted the victory of Bannockburn, the Falkirk Wheel. English notes have celebrated the achievements of Elizabeth Fry, Darwen, Dickens and so on. These people and events have shaped our history and in a way, banknotes do offer us all a lesson in history. They may not be as influential as Elon Musk but they are no less informative and interesting. Banknotes are fascinating!
