This is a ‘Holy Grail’ banknote. The STV prefix is found only in TEN of these notes. The RBS printed seven of the jubilee notes with special prefixes and each had only ten notes issued. The STV was for Scottish Television’s Children’s Appeal when one note was auctioned with the serial number 0000010. One note was kept for bank archives and the others given to people involved in the particular Charities. It seems that of the notes given, most ended up in circulation so this note is not only the first issue but so rare. The note was kept in a frame. The top of the note had 1mm of white tape holding it in and although removed there is some light remains of the tape as can be seen. The note I grade as GEF even though it is uncirculated as there are a few bumps from being in the frame. I mention to be exact. However, a rarer Scottish banknote will be hard to find. It is an incredible banknote that never comes up for sale. Please contact me if you have any queries.
